Huawei is a leading global provider for information and communications technology, focusing on the ICT industry and ranking the 285th among the Fortune Global 500. Its products and solutions have been applied in more than 170 countries in the world, providing services for 45 out of 50 global telecom operators, covering 1/3 of the world population. After more than 10 years’ expansion, Huawei has been a global company, with 22 regional departments and 100+ branches overseas.
Business Challenges
With the rapid growth of its branches all over the world, each year Huawei invests RMB 4 billion to RMB 5 billion in its domestic infrastructure construction and it is estimated that the construction peak will last for 5 to 10 years. From 2012 to 2015, Huawei’s infrastructure department decided to develop and continue to update its ECC platform based on the EAS BOS platform of Kingdee. ECC system contains a series of businesses including infrastructure project management, supplier management, bidding for procurement and budget check, whose businesses and interactive logic are very complicated.
ECC’s Blueprint
At the beginning of 2017, Huawei published its Public Cloud Strategy, which poses a higher demand for internal product management and control. Huawei’s infrastructure department hopes that ECC is able to support the Internet development framework, distributed deployment and Microservices framework, providing a solution of higher performance and reliability for future business development.
Solutions
In early 2018, Huawei’s infrastructure department decided to reconstruct ECC products based on the new version of Kingdee’s technological platform—Kingdee Cloud – Cosmic. The core framework of Kingdee Cloud – Cosmic is Microservices + Docker + distributed database. It contains key factors of cloud computing and aims to create a cloud native open platform so as to meet diversified demands of business system from enterprises of different sizes in different industries with quick speed and flexibility.
The reconstruction project of ECC was carried out by Huawei in January 2018. During the first stage of this project, modules including material sample library, acceptance of concealed work and design demand management were created.

Based on the dynamic domain model, the online development platform of Kingdee Cloud – Cosmic is able to customize a web application and a mobile application for an enterprise. A perfect mobile solution is obtained through the combination of mobile applications and Cloud-Hub mobile platform. The development platform is a complete cloud platform with multiple tenants developing online and visual configuration, thus the deployment is done at one go without construction, reducing the difficulty of developing, operating and maintaining personalized applications for clients and increasing development efficiency. Meanwhile, the platform adopts mature and controllable open-sourcing components as much as possible, which allows the system to be maintained, keeping it open and secure.
Taking user experience into consideration, Kingdee Cloud – Cosmic’s product sets simple design as its priority. Through the interactive model with cards, information is scattered and reassembled as required, which improves user experience of getting information and interaction and reduces their cost of learning and using an application as much as possible.After more than three months of development, the new version of Huawei’s ECC system was officially launched on May 4, covering 960 users and providing management service for various engineering projects.
